On the road…

A few words about the happenings till now.

We started our journey on Sunday  May 16th without problems, thanks for everybody who has accompanied us. We had to fight with the merciless weather and with our heavy bikes, which worn us out. The forces of nature put us to the test with headwind and rainy autumn weather, but we worked it out. For Sunday night our shelter was in Cluj, at Agica and her boyfriend. We thank them a lot for the accommodation and lunch. We pedaled 125km in 8:30 hours.

The weather was fair on Monday, no rain, not so strong wind, but there was the Meszes mountin, which did not gave us mercy. We made a video, it’s already on the blog. After the Meszes, Elod rode into a bund ditch, his leg is violet now. We slept in tent, it was nice warm and we were able to unbend ourselfes.


Tuesday morning a merciless weather saluted us, although Elod sad it will be a nice weather, because the evening before, the bottom of the sky was red, and this should bring a nice weather for the next day.  But it wasn’t that way and we could barely head. We reached Gencs (a village before Nagykaroly), where we were welcomed with warm food and loving-kindness. Lots of thanks for the Vaczy family. We also got from them food for the road and warm tee.

18:30 we reached the border. The officers looked surprised when we told them about our plan, and let us pass. There’s a big difference between the two borders for sure…We pedaled to Nyirbator, where we were got camping permission from the Fishing Club, next to a fishpond. It was a great experience, beautiful landscape, thermal springs, many fish, nice people. The local television took an interview with us. We start to shake down into the project. We agreed with Elod that this is not a piece of cake. Slowly we can pedal our steeds without hands. Everything is fine, we head to Debrecen.

This is an other world…
